Our romantic weekend away without the kids

Image may contain: 2 people, selfie, close-up and indoorIn September 2016 I managed to tick off number 31 from my 40 by 40 list, which was to go on a luxury romantic weekend away with DJ.

We chose September as that is the month of our wedding anniversary. Of course, the term luxury is subjective, as it means different things to different people, but we were more than happy with our weekend away!

We spent time talking, watching movies, chilling in the hot tub, playing board games and eating and drinking far too much!

It was so relaxing and really nice to have quality time together. I think it is important to be able to have some time alone together, even if it is just for a few hours rather than a whole weekend away. In the past, we would sometimes be guilty of letting other things get in the way of that quality time but as we have gotten older we have learned to prioritise each other and it has made our relationship so much stronger.

Do you get to spend much quality time with your partner? Have you any favourite locations for a night away without the children? I would love to hear your thoughts.
